Swingfire

A real-time monitoring center: calls, vehicles and events for every shift, also from the patrol car.

What it is

Swingfire put everything happening in a security shift on one screen: incoming calls, vehicles on the street and ongoing events. Patrol cars carried terminals to query the system from the field.

What it does

  • Shift summary with remaining time and available resources.
  • Call list by source, title, address and date.
  • Geospatial event mapping.
  • Access from patrol vehicles.

What I did

  • I built a real-time monitoring-center management system, deployed in three jurisdictions.
  • I took situational awareness to the street: patrol officers queried the system from in-car computers.
  • I brought each shift’s calls, vehicles and events onto a single screen.
  • I added geospatial event mapping and record lookups, so resources could be allocated with data.
