The Ojos en Alerta website: entry points for cities and residents.

What it is

Ojos en Alerta connects residents with their city’s safety management. It started in San Miguel and now works as a network of cities, each with its own monitoring center, guard team and residents reporting through WhatsApp.

What it does

  • The resident sends a WhatsApp message: text, audio, image, video or location.
  • The city receives the alert, assesses it and acts on it.
  • The resident gets updates and follow-up on what they reported.
  • A local monitoring center and a municipal guard team sustain the model.

What I did

  • I’ve led the network’s technology since 2022: the platform that receives, organizes and follows up every resident alert.
  • I supported its leap from a program born in San Miguel to a network of more than 100 cities, where each one has its own monitoring center.
  • I designed and built Nexo OS, the console each center uses to turn a WhatsApp message into a response on the street.
  • I added a 3D map, weekly analysis and an AI-assisted deployment plan, always with a person making the call.
